ANON: I would like some advice please from the other mummys. Im feeling stressed and upset and I dont know what to do. I have a (nearly) 7 month old little girl who Ive excl bf and is now having solids 3xday. We started at 5 1/2 months as I was constantly feeding, day and night and then she started snatching food out of our hands and so weaning commenced. She loves her food and is always keen to try new stuff. She is generally sleeping 7-7 now (I know Im VERY lucky) though if she wakes in the night I feed her then too. During the day she has 4 bfs, usually 7am, 10.30-11ish, 2.30-3ish and bedtime, usually around 7. All good so far. Except That yesterday I had her weighed and shes putting on weight rapidly. She has always followed the 91st centile and was 9lb4oz born. Shes now heading towards the 98th centile and Ive been told by the HV to start dropping feeds as you dont want her getting fat. This is whats upset me. I dont think Im over feeding her food, she has 1/2weetabix/porridge made with ebm and fruit at breakfast, fish/chicken with veg at lunch and then finger food at dinner like veg/fruit/toast/pasta. She will have a little fromage frais most days but thats it for treats. She doesnt eat crisps/biscuits/rusks as I dont buy/give her them. I just dont know what to do. Im well aware milk is supposed to be their main source of nutrition until they are one and I dont want to deprive her of milk she needs. I struggled with my weight growing up and still have problems now tho not as badly and I dont want her to go through what I did. I should mention she is tall for her age (shes in 9-12month babygrows and her feet are almost at the end!). I would really appreciate any advice. Its really upset me. The HV has been as much use as a chocolate teapot regarding other aspects of bf and i dont want to trust her now but at the same time I dont want my little girl to be too big. And we are to go back in 2 weeks for a review. Sorry for the long post. Thanks.
