ANOTHER AMAZING REVIEW!!! We shall begin to deciphe what I witnessed Sunday at MTOC s TARAZAN performing at PYLUSD. First of all this new venue in orange county is worth the price of admission to just enter. It is absolutely beautiful, SOTA, perfection! The lighting, by Joshua Miller, and his entire team was exqusite. Sound, by Daniel barsky and crew seamlessly great down to heating every word. If you ever wanted to hear what those mics are supposed to sound like on actors, this i s nirvana. A taste of what I witnessed; opening music and light show which was so dazzling I had goosebumps. Then an entire stage size ship sinking, our view from under the raging sea, swimming survivors struggling to reach the surface which was at the top of the curtain! This was the first 5 minutes. Tarazan is written, directed, choreographed, costumed, acted, sung so well that you will be changed, affected in some way. The ending is so riridiculously great I havent calmed down yet. Standout performances by DJ Price (young Tarazan) what a voice! Dayna Sauble (Jane) and Kristin Atkins (kala) whos loving portrayal of a loyal and nurturing mom to this misfit, mancub was so real, it made me miss my mom. Ad usual in my reviews I look for things people dont normally see. There is one girl dancer/gorrilla who I don know the name of. At the end of Trashing the Camp she was all the way SR, took a tent pole down and started to usr them as barbells. Anyway, she danced so enthusiastically, and from an ensemble position, was in every sscene. She looked like she was having a great time, and that made me enjoy it too. Tarazan is a huge undertaking and this production is a top notch, first class ticket to adventure. I believe this place seats 600 or more, with every seat feeling like you have the best one. If you can find a ticket get one! If not go and stand outside. There is enough energy here flowing through the walls to still have a great time. Tarzan, youll be in my heart, always.
