ANOTHER DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS BY CHAIRMAN BOARD OF DIRECTORS ASHAKA CEMENT PLC ALH. UMARU SARKI KWAIRANGA (SARKIN FULANIN GOMBE) Enhance Productivity Ashaka Cem, under the leadership of Alh. Umaru Kwairanga had invested over N1.5billion in setting up a coal dosing plant and working 100% with our local staff managing and operating the machines successfully. The company under Umaru Kwairanga’s leadership also identified coal in other areas of the state apart from Maigana. Above all, and most importantly, Ashaka Cem Plc had over the years been managing a production line capacity of approximately 1.5milliom metric tons per annum which the company maintained for over thirty years. But with the coming on board of Alh. Umaru Kwairanga as the chairman of the company, he initiated the capacity expansion project of the company’s production line which will increase the company’s cement line from the existing 1.5million to 4millionmetric tons per annum through debottlenecking of the existing line of 1.5 million metric tons and the installation of a new line of 2.5 million metric tons of cement per annum thereby creating more jobs for our teeming youths. A Ground Breaking Ceremony was held on the 25th April 2014 in order to ensure the benefit from the potential growth in demand for cement. As part of the expansion project a captive coal fired power plant of 64 megawatts capacity of electricity generation will be built in order to allow reliable and sufficient source of power for the existing plant and the new cement line.
