ANOTHER ONE OF *THOSE* CONVERSATIONS (this morning before coffee) :- Oldest son: I know you hate to be interrupted before you have finished your morning coffee but this is really, really important! “ Me: “O.k...*sigh*...fire away” Oldest Son:-“Mum when the zombie apocalypse comes I’m concerned you won’t be able to run away ! Me:- “Is the zombie apocalypse starting this morning?” Oldest son: - “Well not as far as I know but it’s best to be prepared” Me:- “I’m not prepared for ANYTHING until I’ve had my coffee !!!” Oldest son: - “Be reasonable Mum, this is a very important issue !” Me: “Well of course I will run away in the unlikely event that Zombies run after me ! Oldest Son: “But you can’t run mum! You run like a man with a severed leg! You run like somebody with a rotten stump as if someone had severed your calf below the knee! “ Me:-(somewhat reeling from the description AND lack of coffee):” I do not run like a man with a severed stump! In any case I am a woman!” Oldest Son :- “Pardon me! I stand corrected; you run like a woman with a severed stump! Look I will show you! “ Me :-(watching my son limp around the kitchen): “That is quite the most flawless rendition of the Hunchback of Notre~dame I have ever seen !!! “ Oldest son :- (beaming with pride) “Why thank you! Well then you don’t run like a man or a woman with a severed leg ! ...You run like the Hunchback of Notre~ dame and I’m terribly worried the zombies will catch you ! In the event of Zombies I advise your best chances are to stay perfectly still !” P.s Apologies to all those who previously imagined me running gazelle like through fields of flowers...
