THIS WEEK: Lets start with a show that actually opened yesterday, and is (gasp!) *not* a holiday show! UNCLE WALT, written by Andrew Rosdail, directed by Mark Hooker. A dark comedy in which a man who has been fired by Disney Animation steals Walts cryogenically preserved (thats frozen to you) head. Insanely geeky, insanely funny, and featuring sic-fi/steampunk goddess Dawn Krosnowski. Why *wouldnt you go? Performed entirely in Klingon with English subtitles. Peter Vitale and Michael Pearce Donley play child prodigies who become friends during a lifetime of preparation for careers as concert pianists. A wonderful story, and Vitale & Donley will win you over -- theyre fine actors and brilliant pianists. December 5-21, Park Square, St. Paul. Youve seen the TV show -- HOW many times? -- so see the stage show, already! December 5-21, Youth Performance Company @ Howard Conn Fine Arts, Minneapolis. Miss Richfield 1981 is a holiday tradition at Illusion, and now shes back with an all-new show. December 5-21, Illusion Theatre, Minneapolis. A winter holiday festival is threatened by . . . well, you, the audience get to name where, what festival, the threat, and the hero in an improv sendup of the usual holiday fare.
