APC Dumps Gov. Okorocha, Fails To Include APGA In INEC Registration Wednesday, 12 June 2013 15:24 By ‘Tunde Babalola, Abuja This may not be a good time for the Imo State governor, the Owelle Ndi Igbo, Mr Rochas Anayochukwu Okorocha as his political harlotry has now landed him between the water and the deep blue sea. Governor Rochas Okorocha who dumped the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) which offered him platform to occupy Douglas House two years ago on May 7th 2013 when he formally pledged his allegiance to the unregistered political association, All Progressives Congress (APC) is now a political orphan as he is neither recognised in APC nor welcomed in APGA. With the document submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the APC last Friday, the Imo State governor is nowhere to be found. According to a chieftain of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Mr Tom Ikimi, the APC application was signed by the National Chairmen, Secretaries, and Treasurers of the three merging parties, namely the ACN, Congress for Progressive Change, (CPC) and the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP). The document submitted to INEC has clearly shown that Rochas Okorocha, holder of numerous titles from communities and associations within and outside the country has finally failed to bring any of the factions of the APGA into the APC. Frontiers News gathered that none of the two factions of APGA - the Maxi Okwu and Victor Umeh groups are ready and at home in receiving the ‘prodigal son’ at the Imo government house back into their fold. Sources close to the governor indicated that Mr Okorocha who specializes in party switching having been to the ANPP and the Peoples Democratic Party at different periods is now considering pitching his tent with the ACN in order to get a comfortable place in APC should INEC accord it registration.
