APC Govs To Meet In Lafia To Formulate Strategies On 2015 on August 13, 2013 The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to hold the first meeting of its governors since the party became registered about a fortnight ago by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The APC governors would be converging on Lafia, Nasarawa State capital on Wednesday to draw strategies on its action plans. No fewer than 10 APC governors are expected to be at the meeting slated for Wednesday at the Presidential Lodge, Lafia. To show its enthusiasm towards the hosting of the meeting, giant bill-boards of the 11 APC governors have already been erected at strategic locations apart from the one erected directly opposite the Government House, Lafia. Confirming the meeting on Monday, Gov. Tanko Al-Makura’s Chief Press Secretary, Iliyasu Aliyu Yakubu said the maiden edition of the APC Governors’ Forum in the state capital signals the beginning of good tidings for the state. In his words, “I want to say that APC is like a hurricane or tsunami that will take anybody that stands on its way, just like a moving train, so the state is privileged to host such august visitors in the month of August.” “The meeting will further expose our democracy in Nasarawa state and give the governor another opportunity to sell himself better because he belongs to APC, a party of progressives minded people. “For APC governors to have agreed to come and converge on Lafia, it is a privilege that we will never forget. The governor has visited the meeting venue and every necessary thing has been put in place. “The meeting will further consolidate our democracy in this state and the benefit for Nasarawa state is unquantifiable.”
