APC PLANS MEGA RALLY IN CROSS RIVER The leadership of the newly registered All Progressive Congress (APC) in Cross River State has announced that they will soon hold what they termed a mega rally to recruit new members. Briefing the press at the end of their inaugural meeting in Calabar where the birth of APC in the state was announced, the three former chairmen of the defunct parties, namely Comrade Hilliard Eta of old ACN, Prince Martins Bisong (ANPP) and Mike Muan Agbeh (CPC) said the mega party was now placed on a much more comfortable position to challenge and wrestle power from the ruling PDP in the state. “One of the first actions we will embark on will be the mega rally throughout the three senatorial districts of this state to reconsolidate our structures and ‘dust up’ old members who were part of us when we as then ANPP dominated this state. Thereafter we are going to properly strategise for the September local government elections,” they said. In a nine-point communique released at the end of the meeting, they expressed happiness at the registration of APC and commended INEC for “rising above external influence.” -CULLED FROM DAILY TRUST
