APC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION IS EVIDENCE OF MY POPULARITY - KWANKWASO Kano state Governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has said that his participation in APC’s Presidential Primary Election as well as becoming the second in the election further exposed him and enhanced his political stature across the country. “I joined the race in order to win the election. however, I came second. I am happy because I am now known all over the country.” Kwankwaso said this on Friday in an interview with journalists in his office, stressing “I started (the race) very late, just two months ago but I got second position.” According to him, APC has demonstrated that it is capable of holding free and fair elections, thanking all delegates that participated in the just concluded National congress, especially those who voted for him for their maturity and decorum. The governor maintained that prior to the election, all the five aspirants of the APC promised to support anyone of then that emerged winner, assuring that he would support the candidature of Gen. Muhammad Buhari 100 percent, until he wins the presidential election next year. He said Buhari, who has a military background has the capacity to address the insecurity problems bedeviling the nation, noting that the APC Presidential Candidate is very honest, committed and determined to bring positive changes in the country. ‘Buhari’, Kwankwaso said, has promised in his acceptance speech, to address corruption, insecurity as well as to promote and promote patriotism among Nigerians as well as to stop divisiveness in religion, ethnicity and regionalism. The governor blamed the ruling PDP under President Jonathan for the difficulties and insecurity facing the nation, assuring that in the 2015 election, the electorate would vote PDP out of power because it is already incapacitated. He further assured that APC would win the 2015 gubernatorial election and all other elective posts in Kano state, adding that the state indigenes would vote for Buhari to become Nigeria’s next president. Asked whether he would contest for a Senatorial seat following failure to get his party’s presidential ticket, Kwankwaso said he is consulting with political associates and would make his position known soon. “For over 20 years I have been an active politician”, adding that he would continue to be so for the rest of his life.
