APC PRIMARIES: UWAJUMOGU TASKS ASPIRANTS, DELEGATES ON GOOD CONDUCT Ahead of December 1st primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for aspirants who are seeking nominations to contest the 2015 elections into the Imo state House of Assembly, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has charged them, as well as the party’s delegates to properly conduct themselves for the successful outing of the exercise in the state. Speaking to reporters at his official residence in Owerri , the Speaker noted that it was imperative that strict principles of core democratic tenets were adhered to in the conduct of the exercise, adding that all eyes were already on the party to prove its ‘progressive’ stance in the politics of the state, and as such, the party cannot afford to fail. He appealed to the aspirants who will emerge flag bearers of the party tomorrow to be magnanimous in victory by adequately integrating their brothers who contested with them in their respective programmes for the overall success of the party, while urging those who might not make it to see the exercise as a game involving brothers and sisters, by joining hands together to ensure that the party was delivered at all levels. Rt. Hon. Uwajumogu, also tasked party delegates to see themselves as true representatives and custodians of our country’s nascent democracy, as well as the new face of the needed change in their respective localities, by ensuring that they elect those credible candidates who possesses strong political will and sound developmental ideologies for the general good of their people. While wishing the party and the aspirants a hitch-free outing, the Speaker further appealed to the organizers of the primaries to ensure a level playing field, where the collective wishes of the people would prevail, maintaining that the era of imposition of unpopular candidates, as well as god-fatherism were over.
