APC insults Bishop Oyedepo, cries wolf over Jonathan’s visit to Living Faith Church The camp of the All progressives Congress (APC) has been jittery and crying wolf since sunday over President Jonathan’s attendance at one of Nigeria’s largest congregation the Living Faith Incorporated aka Winners Chapel in Canaan Land, Ota, Ogun state for yesterday’s Sunday service. In a widely reported service trending all over the internet, Bishop David Oyedepo, was alleged to have declared that hell’s gate be opened on those who oppose Nigeria which was seen by most aggrieved APC members as an endorsement and chastisement of the opposition party. The opposition party APC in a derogatory statement against Bishop Oyedepo, posted on it’s official twitter account @apcnigeria said: “Go and Open the gates of Hell… We will enter there and use our PVCs to CHANGE the Padlock and Lock you inside – APC Supporter” The party’s handle also retweeted several harsh and angry comments against the popular cleric in what is considered a breach of professional rules of engagement. “If you like vote GEJ bcos Oyedepo orders u to,he flies in private jets & lives in luxury,u ll be d 1 2 suffer 4 it,he won’t” (Retweet.) These provocative messages targeted at the President’s attendance in Church and the influential Bishop Oyedepo will further damage the reputation of the APC which is widely seen as an Islamist party. It was reported that Bishop Oyedepo declared his unflinching support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid and blessed him, saying: “I pray that God will grant President Jonathan the unusual grace to meet the demands of his office.” President Jonathan in his remarks, commended Bishop Oyedepo for his commitment to God and development of Education in Nigeria while seeking the continual prayers of the saints for a successful 2015 elections. “I don’t want to talk much before I am accused of coming to Church to campaign for election. I plead with you all to keep praying for successful and peaceful election next month,” he said. Oyedepo is believed to be one of the clerics supporting the President and has accompanied him on pilgrimage to Israel alongside CAN president Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. He also reportedly witnessed a meeting between former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and Jonathan, along with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye.
