APHC FINALIZE ARRANGEMENTS FOR MARTYRS DAY Srinagar, July 08: The APHC has finalized all the arrangements to make the martyrs day programme a successful event on July 13. The decision to this effect was taken during an extraordinary meeting of APHC executive and general council body convened by the party Chairman, Mirwaiz Dr. Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq. According to the programme, the hurriyat leaders representing each district would lead the processions from their respective areas and would converge at Jamia Masjid Srinagar. After the processions would assemble there, APHC Chairman would lead a joint procession towards Naqashband Sahib (RA) shrine to pay tributes to the July 13 martyrs. The meeting decided that following leaders would lead the processions from their respective districts; Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi from Imam Bara Budgam, Moulana Abbas Ansari from Mirgund pattan, Abdul Gani Bhat, Musadiq Adil and GN Zaki from Sopore, Bilal Gani Lone from handwara, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza from Islamabad, Syed Salim Geelani from Ganderbal, Zaffar Akbar Bhat from Saraibala, Khalil Mohamamd Khalil from Baramulla, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam from Jamia Masjid Dalgate, Hakima Abdul Rashid from Soura, Syed Bashir Andrabi from Pulwama, and Yasmeen Raja would lead the procession from Pampore and reach Jamia Masjid Srinagar. While paying rich tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, the participants reiterated that the APHC is firm on its traditional stand and would continue with its ongoing struggle on political and diplomatic fronts. They said the July 13, 1931 martyrs mark the long yearning of struggle for freedom started by the people of Jammu and Kashmir for which they have offered their lives and property. They said that such sacrifices are the asset of Kashmiris and the struggle for freedom would continue till it reaches its logical conclusion. The meeting also took stock of various APHC cells and expressed satisfaction about their working. The participants unanimously decided to constitute a news cell under the title Gojar, pahari, tibal area cell which would be headed by senior party leader Shaheen Iqbal.
