APHC supports PPP chief Eng Hilal Wars shutdown call on 21 Jan in view of the Gawkadal massacre anniversary Srinagar, Jan 19: Paying rich tributes to the martyrs of Gawkadal on their 25th martyrdom anniversary, the APHC spokesman today said that the blood of martyrs was the priceless asset with the Kashmiris. He further said the sacrifices offered by Kashmiris have internationalized the Kashmir cause and brought the attention of world towards the lingering dispute. Despite passing of 25 years, the spokesman said not a single trooper involved in the Gawkadal massacre has been convicted or put behind the bars for committing crime against the humanity. He said that the demands of impartial probe into the massacre by an independent investigation organization too have not been met so far. Head of hurriyat constituent, Peoples Political Party, Engineer Hilal Ahmad war has called for observing the strike on January 21 in Gawakadal and surrounding areas as a mark of protest against oppression and tyranny which was unleashed by the Indian troops in Gawakdal by killing scores of people and thereafter. He appealed people to show complete commitment and resolve towards freedom struggle by observing strike and by protesting the human rights violations and massacres of Kashmiris by the Indian forces. Spokesman has paid rich tributes to the youth who was martyred by the Indian forces in Saidapora Sopore, adding, the blood of martyrs would be protected at any cost by taking their mission to logical conclusion.
