APPEAL TO UPND SUPPORTERS PREAMBLE I used to be a pf supporter.Not only as a mouth piece but also as a financial contributor in my own little way. At the time, i got inspired by the promises of turning around things in 90 days.Particularly over the constitution,low taxes,reduction of cabinet and ministries,professionalizing district administrator and foreign mission offices. However, i noticed Sata was not going to honor his promises immediately he started appointing people like Willie Nsanda,GBM,Fr Frank Bwalya,some known grade 7 street Shylocks (kaloba lenders), appointing of majority ministers from one region among others to key govt department. This observation was also echoed by the post newspaper when they wondered in one of their publication why prominent people like professor Hasungule and Muna Ndulo were left out in PF govt.Further,this was compounded with the induced expensive by-elections by enticing opposition MPs to join PF,Publicly telling NGOs and the church that we dont have an animal driven constitution and that those talking about constitution were just yapping. I knew then that PF was only preoccupied in paying back those who supported it and stiffening those with divergent views. We are where we are as a nation now because PF behaves as if they are still in the opposition. They are so jittery and uncomfortable to an extent that they have planted pf carders in most govt departments and Parastatals to be their spys.If winter kabimba is bold enough he could attest to this because he was one of the architect of this. GOING FORWARD Having been cheated by pf,we look forward to a new dawn in Zambia. And am convinced that upnd and MMD through hh can revamp our lost hope. I say so because while pf and EL were busy trying to destroy hh and upnd using malice, they (upnd) have been preaching love and reconciliation dubbed zambia unit.They have conducted issue based campaigns and hats off to Felix mutati and the mmd for supporting upnd and putting national interest first. HH,these promises you are making to people of free education,low farm inputs and timely payment to farmers,low taxes, low meal meal and fuel prices,creating formal jobs and promoting entrepreneurial skills are not easy but they are achievable. what we expect is that you will not also start rewarding friends with jobs.Make a formidable team which will encompass all 10 provinces.We dont expect you to start arresting current ministers because we have been through this b4 and it has not benefited the nation.No vindictiveness. Let markets and bus stations be run by local authorities so that we improve their revenue base. Cadres should be removed forthwith.Abolish positions of DCs. This is just a drain on the treasury.This position just conflicts with that of a mayor and a town clerk. We expect you to direct the nation on how to work hard and how to love one another across all tribes and political divides. Remember we shall vote for you as our leader and not our boss. THE SURE WAY OF DEVELOPING THIS NATION IS A COORDINATED HEAVY INVESTMENT IN EDUCATION,MANUFACTURING,AGRICULTURE AND TOURISM. To UPND supporters, its my humble plea that as we support hh, non of us should to it in order to receive gratification when we win. There are alot of supporters out there.The elite and the illiterates,the rich and the poor,christians and non christians. It is therefore not possible that hh can reward us with jobs. Expecting rewards will just make us fall in the same trap like PF.We dont want this to ever happen again. To those of us who are working, we should always think of how to assist the unemployed get a job in a credible and transparent manner. To those who have been in business,think of how you can assist those mothers,brothers,sisters who have been selling tomato,salaula,tutemba. These need to be assisted to graduate and improve to a better type of business. It is from these small individual contribution that we are going to better our living standards in our country. But this is only possible with good governance systems in place. God bless.
