APPEAL: Were you travelling between Trentham and Hanchurch last Friday lunchtime? If so you maybe able to help us with an investigation into an incident which happened at around 12.15pm and involved a car and a cyclist on Whitmore Road (B5038). The cyclist, a 32-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was cycling along from the Trentham direction when a black Vauxhall Corsa pulled alongside him. The passenger grabbed at the cyclists rucksack causing him to fall off and sustain cuts and bruises. Fortunately, he didnt require hospital treatment but the impact was such that his helmet split in two. A passing cyclist stopped to offer assistance and officers are keen to trace to him.
