APR got a call Sunday evening. Owner was found deceased in her home of what seems 2 days. Home had limited power. Im not one to pull on heart strings of tragic valor. However when we received this video. Who could say no?. Dillon is 25 plus M2 was housed with George a 20 year old male cockatiel. Please be respectful in comments. The owner of Dillon and Goerge, sister found her family member alone in a home that was in need of love and care. When we came in late of night it was evident the owner was a collector of many items. Piled high that you could not access rooms. The birds are all the real comfort and companions she had. From the outside the home was beautiful and looked as normal as the house next door. We went in back to get access of the two birds. With that a great sadness occured. The woman died alone. And left many in dire need. I ask if you can 1. Prayers for a fast recover for Dillion. 2. Prayers for the family in the ladies home cleaning up the piles of unfortune. 3. To please be kind and know your neighbors. 4. If you see something like this contact your animal control. They can force vet care and if refused can be charged with animal neglect. We have been seeing allot of neglected birds of late. Be active. Be aware. And most of all go out and be prepared to stand up for these creatures who have no voice. Sonya.
