APSEMO: MAYON VOLCANO BULLETIN: 25 Sept. 2014; 8:00 A.M.; Alert Level: 3: Mayon Volcano (13.2500N, 123.6833E) seismic network recorded one (1) rockfall event during the past 24-hour observation period. Weak to moderate emission of white steam plumes drifting SW to NW was observed. Crater glow was not observed last night. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) flux was measured at an average of 606 tonnes/day on 24 Sept. 2014, lower than the 1048 tonnes/day recorded on 22 Sept. 2014. Ground deformation data showed no significant change from Aug. 2014 based on the 21-23 Sept. 2014 precise leveling survey although the edifice remains inflated compared to baseline measurements. Tilt data also indicate continuous inflation at the base of the edifice since Aug. 2014. All the above data indicate that the volcano is still in a state of unrest due to the movement of potentially eruptible magma. PHIVOLCS.
