ARANMULA REALITY 1. Govt. has given the approval violating all the rules and regulations regarding Wet-land, Paddy land Acts. The proposed air-port site is neither a paddy-land nor the peculiar wet-land. It might have been a paddy field, at least 3 decades ago. Because this land was left barren for so many years, some enterprising people thought of utilizing it otherwise, as happened in many other places of Kerala. No investor will dare to make an investment proposal in Kuttanad or Palakkad like professionally cultivated areas, staking huge money. The land is legally sold by the “failed” farmers in their utmost distress of farming, nothing illegally taken away by the present owners by some cheat. In fact, more people are offering their land to the company as understood, but at higher rates. The land may be wet, especially during the monsoon, just because river Pampa is flowing full nearby. “Kozhithodu” is not what contributing to the water availability of nearby areas, but its river Pampa. Kozhithodu may be a by-product of Pampa, never vice versa. 2. Govt has violated Land Reforms Act and has approved the possession of the area of land. Govt. Must have given a special sanction for the project, to a legally registered company , not individual, for which a creative democratic Govt. is empowered and also expected about, wisely evaluating the total project potential of creating employment opportunities, economic advancement and infrastructural contribution worth Rs.2000 Cr. Same logic is applied in the case of LULU International Convention Centre at Kochi as well, giving concessions in the coastal area construction rules/regulations. 3. Danger to Heritage & Cultural Speciality of the Area. This propaganda is spread only after the first wet land-paddy land reasoning was denied by the public. An airport like establishment can only support and promote the cultural and heritage speciality of an area to the international levels. 4. Threat to the Parthasarathy Temple. This is the latest card played by the opponents to activate communal sentiments against the project. Few swamies conducted dharna etc. And they told that a mango tree is standing there on which Sri Krishna sit and play; we all so far thought Lord Krishna is serious inside the shrine, patiently listening and blessing his devotees!!! Sabarimala is a big township today with helipad facilities and it is ever growing day by day as a modern city inside the thick Govt. protected jungle. Same growth-effect will be the net future contribution of this project to Aranmula Temple as well. The Dewasom and the devotees have to be thankful to the KGS Group. Tirupati Airport ( Renigunta Airport) is the core reason of the growth of the wealthiest Tirupati Temple, Andhra Pradesh. They are fighting to make it an International Airport now. Madurai also we can see same example/model of growth.
