ARE COMPULSORY SPEED LIMITERS THE ANSWER TO SPEEDING? Speeding is one of the leading causes of deaths on NSW roads. And recent figures suggest that speeding may be on the rise, with 23% more speeding offences being detected in 2014 than the previous year. This follows many years of media campaigns against speeding. So what’s the answer? Some suggest that the compulsory installation of speed limiters to vehicles is the way to go. But such devices aren’t without dangers: for example, what if you were overtaking and the device kicked-in and dangerously slowed down your car?
