ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN? Are you a Christian? Do you like watching movies? Did you notice that in the movies they use the name of Jesus Christ as a curse? Imagine the name JESUS being blasphemed many times and we still watch the movie! Think of a name in history, have you heard that persons name being use as a curse? No, you havent, only the name of JESUS. Just imagine if the name of your father, your mother be used as a curse, wouldnt it makes you get mad? How much more the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ! Remember, Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Exodus 20:7 I saw then what faint views some have of the holiness of God, and how much they take His holy and reverend name in vain, without realizing that it is God, the great and terrible God, of whom they are speaking. All should guard the senses, lest Satan gain victory over them; for these are the avenues of the soul. - Adventist Home p. 401 The apostle sought to teach the believers how important it is to keep the mind from wandering to forbidden themes or from spending its energies on trifling subjects. Those who would not fall a prey to Satan’s devices, must guard well the avenues of the soul; they must avoid reading, seeing, or hearing that which will suggest impure thoughts. The mind must not be left to dwell at random upon every subject that the enemy of souls may suggest. The heart must be faithfully sentineled, or evils without will awaken evils within, and the soul will wander in darkness. “Gird up the loins of your mind,” Peter wrote, “be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; ... not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: but as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” Acts of the Apostles p. 518
