ARE YOU FIT FOR THE TASK? October 7th, 2013 QUOTE OF THE DAY: “AN UNTRAINED PERSON IS AN UNFIT PERSON” Memory Verse : “Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God” 1 Samuel 17:36. ‘Nations have passed away and left no traces and history gives the naked cause of it – one single simple reason in all cases: they fell because their people were not fit’; says Max Aikten, a twentieth century Philosopher. No nation in the world enlists unfit soldiers into its army or parades untrained soldiers on the battle front, otherwise such nation risks being a victim. God does not use unfit soldiers either. He prepares whoever He wants to use by means of trials, daily personal or disciplined Bible study; prayers, reading of life-enriching books, listening to anointed tapes: ‘He teaches my hands to war’. Footballers prepare themselves for competition, boxers rehearse before they mount the ring, singers commit themselves to voice training before appearing in concerts, and professionals also develop themselves. The kind of task before you will determine the kind of preparation you are expected to go through. In the course of making yourself fit for a particular assignment, you may not be seen, you maybe unheard or hidden. Sometimes, it could be the silent period when nothing dramatic is happening in your life or ministry. Unknown to Saul and David’s brothers, David had been divinely taken through some developmental processes and experiences, that was why he could come boldly to face Goliath. It is only you that know and can say whether you are truly fit for what you are doing or not. Having results is not by size or age; it is a function of the stuff you are made of. There are intellectual strength, spiritual strength, inner strength and physical strength. Which one are you lacking? Except the gap is filled, it will hinder your effectiveness and make you perform below expectation. There is no sentiment; preference will always be given to those who are fit and qualified. Go and make it up wherever you are deficient. Go and measure up in any area of your life where you cannot lift up your head with confidence, even amongst your contemporaries. You cannot offer what you do not have. I prophesy into your life now: your generation shall call you blessed in Jesus name. Enjoy your day! DIVINE INSTRUCTION FOR THE DAY SPREAD YOUR TWO HANDS AS IF YOU WANT TO PRAY. SPEAK THUS: ‘MY HANDS, TAKE DELIVERY OF A MAJOR MIRACLE. YOU SHALL NOT BE FEEBLE’. PLACE THE HANDS ON YOUR HEAD. PROPHETIC PRAYERS Lord Jesus, train me the more, and make me fit for your purpose for my life. Oh Lord, grant me the grace not to fail you. I refuse to be unfit for the battles of life in Jesus name. I shall not fail in destiny on account of unfitness in Jesus name. FURTHER STUDY: 1 Samuel 17:3-37. Read the Bible through in one year: Psalms Chapters 58-60. Remember to further prophesy on yourself!
