ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT TOMORROW? Have you ever asked yourself - TopicsExpress

ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT TOMORROW? Have you ever asked yourself any of these questions: “What will become of me in the future? Who am I in the hands of fate? Will I be around tomorrow? Such questions should prompt us to realise our need for God. Life is a mere shadow. Man, with all that he can boast of is like a beautiful flower which blossoms for a while and then withers too soon. As a child of God, your life comes from God and goes back to Him as He wills. If life is like a flower which blossoms for a while and then withers too soon, what then is the good in making long-term plans when we do not even know what the day brings forth? “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit’; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.’ But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil” (James 4:13-17). The uncertainty of the hour of Christs return calls for vigilance and watchfulness. As a Christian, dont exclude God in your decision-making; please, watch and pray. Those who exclude God today in their plans or battles are certainly not prepared for tomorrow. There is no excuse for being surprised at the uncertainty of coming events because God has purposely left us in the dark concerning future events. We boast about tomorrow when we begin to plan without reference to God. Today is our own, tomorrow is not. This does not mean we should not make thoughtful and watchful provision for the future, nor does it consist in unnecessary anxiety or worry about tomorrow. It only stresses our need to involve God in everything we do, to trust Him and His Kingdom and free ourselves of worry about tomorrow. Worrying about tomorrow destroys our sense of judgment; it cripples our ability to think, to act, to exercise faith in the present. Worrying about tomorrow does not guarantee one’s future? Only God can.
