ARE YOU WORTHY OF THEIR SACRIFICE? To me, Memorial Day is not just a day to remember my fallen brothers in arms and those that fell before them. It is also a call to action to make sure that their deaths were not in vain. We often equate our service members to sentinels on a wall, keeping us safe. They stand their watch and repeal all attackers so that we may pursue life, liberty, and happiness. They stare intently into the night sky, protecting us as we sleep the sound and peaceful sleep of a free people. But if they stand the watch and are willing to lay down their lives while doing their duty, what are YOU doing to deserve such protection? If these brave men and women are keeping our gates safe, what are you doing inside the city walls to be worthy of them? Do you fret your days away in laziness? Are you a drain on our society, contributing nothing but demanding entitlement? Do you waste time and resources with petty drama instead of doing something constructive? Or are you a productive member of our great nation, helping to build our society and economy? Do you teach and SHOW your children right from wrong so that yours and their legacy will be one of progress and greatness, not one of waste and graft? So as you pause today to honor our fallen protectors, as you go out with your family and friends to enjoy the beginning of summer, take a moment to make a pledge that starting TODAY, you will make yourself worthy of our heros sacrifices.
