ARKANSAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF Mike Phillips, Superintendent POSITION TITLE: ASD/ASB Business Manager - 22082278 REPORTS TO: Mike Phillips JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for directing the operation of the Accounting, Personnel, Maintenance, Food Service and Transportation departments by developing and establishing work priorities and standards of performance, reviewing and approving managerial decisions, and monitoring budgetary needs and expenditures. This position is governed by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Responsible in keeping both the ASB/ASD Superintendents well informed on the financial management of both agencies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The formal education of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, general business, or related field; plus three years of experience in a general office work, accounting, or a related field, including one year in a supervisory capacity. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Experience with AASIS, Office of Budget, Office of Personnel Management and experience working with Legislators, Architects and Engineers, work experience with other state agencies (i.e., Dept. of Finance and Administration, Dept. of Information System and State Building Authority). Sign language skills SPECIAL REQUIREMNTS: A background check will be conducted. Direct deposit and 6% Contributory Teacher Retirement is mandatory.
