ARMED AND DANGEROUS; The Newark Police Department reports the early morning shooting of a mother and her 11 year old son by a 45 year old suspect, Aron B. Bell of Blackmar Street, Newark, New York. Bell is suspected of entering his girlfriend’s apartment on Mason Street, Newark at approximately 1:50 AM and shooting his girlfriend once in the head with a small caliber handgun and then turning to the Mother’s children, shooting her 11 year old son. Two other children, ages 3 and 13 were present but not harmed. Bell fled the scene and is believed to be operating a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer, color black with NY registration GTN5526. Both victims are currently being treated and expected to survive the assault. Newark Police, with the assistance of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Bell who is considered armed and dangerous. Bell has many contacts in the City of Rochester, Monroe and Wayne Counties. Anyone with information should call 315-946-9711 or if it’s an emergency dial 911.
