ARSENAL PRE-SEASON WATCH:Arsenal played Nagoya Grampus earlier today. It was Wenger against his former team and also against his former captain and current manager of Nagoya Dragan Stojkovic,a man touted as wengers chosen heir. From the onset it was clear that this team was no Vietnam or Indonesia though they conceded to Giroud in the 3rd minute. The Frenchman has scored 6goals in 68minutes on the pitch, thats a record in itself,he seems fitter and more confident and i hope he replicates this form cum 17th August. It was another win albeit with a smaller margin and against a team that actually played soccer..in the highlights. On goal was Fabianski, despite his new found confidence he had two nervy moments, luckily we survived..just like szcezny he cant kick but i seem to think he is a better shotstopper,he has a better reaction and reflex.I may have pushed buttons here but nontheless my opinion. Sagna was outstanding again in CB,that by no means should not be an excuse to sign one.Say williams from swansea,Adil Rami with La liga a hunting ground as the debt chicken comes home to roost or Sakho, the latter has been freezed out in PSG and with the recent acquisation of Marquinos at €35m i dont see him playing at all, plus wenger likes him. Jenkinson played well, the lad is fit and has pace to burn, with Monreal out for two months gibbs faces no competition for his place,he was good today and even hit the net, side net in his last act before being replaced by miquel. Ramsey and Arteta were again superb.Rambo seems to have got his groove back,Arteta bossed the game and managed to leave the pitch with his beloved hair still perfect.Rosicky assisted Girouds goal and he was outstanding also..well,he is the little mozart and forever 21. Walcott was again wasteful though he finaly got to the scoresheet before being replaced.Ryo scored a cracker of a penalty after the lively Giroud was brought down. The whole stadium erupted,it was his home town and their young hero had returned. Of the subs, wilshere was as hard on the tackle as wilshere can be but for his final ball lessons from Gedion Zelalem would come in handy. The latter a 16yr old stole the show with his accurate through balls, first for Walcott and then to Akpom another 17yr old who did not take his chance. With his pass accuracy, vision and awareness he is one to watch little Gedion. The ox did not play today,Eisfeld and Olson also remained on the bench.Hope to see them in the last Asian tour game. Finaly Wenger smiled. It was a big perfomance.Asked by the media about the signing of brazilian star Bernand he emphaticaly said the reports were not true. For a man known to be coy on transfers, that about sums up that. We play Urawa Reds on friday and maybe before then there will be a signing to end the report. @dunny_gooner!
