ARTICLE : Neeraj Pandey Introduces His ‘Baby’ With Trailer Launch Director Neeraj Pandey had raised the bar with A Wednesday and then Special 26. That’s why his next, Akshay Kumar starrer #Baby, trended for weeks on social networking sites. And today, finally, the makers of Baby launched the trailer of the film with its star cast Kumar, Danny Dengzonpa, Kay Kay Menon, Rana Duggubati, Tapsee Pannu and Madhurima Tulli, along with producers Bhushan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Krishan Kumar and Shital Bhatia. Here’s sneak peak of what happened at the do: Akshay Kumar on Baby When I was offered the film, I too wondered why ‘Baby’? I understood why after I understood every aspect of the script. Neeraj Pandey on Special 26 and Baby Baby is totally different film from Special 26. The latter was set in 1987 while Baby is set in today’s times. That was a story about a bunch of thieves and this is about terrorism. So the genres are totally different. And there’s more than one story in Baby. Pandey on non-fiction My film Baby is also inspired by real life events and speaks about many problems that we face. I believe real stories appeal to people more as we easily connect with them. Danny Dengzonpa on Pandey I watched A Wednesday and loved the film. So when Neeraj offered me Baby, I happily agreed to do it. Special 26 was also a very good film and I didn’t want to miss the chance to work with such a brilliant director. Also, I have a brilliant part to play in the movie. Kumar on action films It is difficult to say which film was best in terms of action but I believe when the timing is good, it becomes a good action film. Rana Duggubati on Baby I was conned with this script. When Neeraj offered me the film, he told me it would feature Akshay Kumar and two actresses. I assumed I would have one heroine starring opposite me but it turned out to be an altogether a different film. I believe he wanted a stuntman so he cast me! But jokes apart, it was a wonderful experience working with Neeraj and the entire cast. It was a tough role to play. Neeraj is a task master as he is clear about what he wants and never asks for options. Kay Kay Menon on Baby My character is called Bilal and, once again, I play a bad man in this film. Pandey on working with seasoned actors When you work with seasoned actors like Danny sir, Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher, the director’s job becomes easier as you don’t need to go in detail to make them understand every bit. Bhushan Kumar on action We thought we should try something different this time, apart from music and love stories. That’s why we chose Akshay Kumar’s Baby. Kumar on roles I have always accepted roles that excite me. I never look at how much screen time I have or how much footage am I getting in the film. In Khakee, my character was actually offered to Paresh Rawal but I told Rajkumar Santoshi I wanted to do that role. Kumar on six-pack abs I have said this before and I am saying it again, that simply because of demand, one should not ruin one’s health. The way one develops a six pack is not healthy. I believe one should eat more of maa ke haath ka khaana than pump oneself with supplements and steroids. Tapsee Pannu on Baby When Neeraj offered me the film, I was very excited as he is one of the best directors we have. Moreover, my character is unique and a first for me. I have done some stunts in the film and it was a learning experience. Madhurima Tulli on Baby I am lucky to get a break in a film that has so many seasoned actors. I am very happy and it was a wonderful experience working with Neeraj sir. boxofficeindia.co.in/pandey-introduces-his-%e2%80%98baby%e2%80%99-with-trailer-launch/
