ARTIST OF THE DAY: PARSONSFIELD Parsonsfield has two FREE shows next weekend. On Saturday, Sep 13 they will be starting the party at the Craft Beer House at 6:30 pm and then coming back on Sunday, Sep 14 to rock the Hill Stage at 3:15 pm. Go to ottawafolk for more information. When we first announced the #folk2014 lineup this year, this band was called Poor Old Shine, but in July they changed their name influenced by the experience of living in, and recording two albums in Parsonsfield, Maine. That experience also turned the group into a 5-man piece, when drummer Erik Hischmann joined, and was instrumental in changing their sound. In their own words, ... it pulled us from being a more traditional string band to something that felt much more uniquely ourselves. It made us the band we are today. And thats a band that were betting youll enjoy.
