ARTIST PROFILE: HAILEY CLARK My subjects tend to be withdrawn and/or morose, but the color palette is in direct contrast of the subject. Bright, vibrant palettes of hot pinks and warm yellows fill the canvas to play the reality of self with our projected self-image. I am overly eager to begin the painting process—connecting the brush to the pallet and just going for it is such a rush. That unconscious intent inspires me. Painting is almost like yoga for me. The only things that exist are myself, my materials and, of course, my kick ass Pandora station. I often dont take the shortest route from A to B, but I find unique elements on my convoluted way that have become part of my style. I love gelatinous candy.
