AS FOR ME Genesis 17:1-4 1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. I want you to notice who is talking in these verses, it is God, He wants Abram to recognize His part of faithfulness AS FOR ME. I. IN DEVOTION " As for me and my house we will serve the Lord" (Josh. 24:15). "As for me and my house." Whatever else he might do for him and his, the die was cast "We will serve the Lord." As for God He will always receive our service and know who is serving - 1 Corinthians 15:58 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. II. IN PRAYER We find in the Psalms that we can call on God, we have a voice to God. “As for me, I will call upon God" (Psalm 55:16). “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied when I awake, with thy likeness" (Psalm 17:15). As For God Jeremiah 33:3 3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. III. IN FORGIVENESS Psalm 26:11 11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. Psalm 55:16 16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. 1 John 1:9-10 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. IV. IN DIVINE SUPPORT Who is it that undergirds us throughout our lives and gives us support to just make it through? The question has been laid, does Jesus care, the answer has been risen to lofty heights Oh yes He cares. " As for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity" (Psalms 41:12) 1 Peter 5:7 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. V. IN SATANIC ASSAULT In an autobiographical psalm, Asaph reveals how narrowly he escaped from falling into a net the wily tempter had set for his feet: "As for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well-nigh slipped” (Psalm 73:2). 1 Peter 5:8 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
