AS I AM Pleasant memories flooded my mind while attending a concert. The group leader had just announced the next song: Just as I am. I remember when, years ago, at the end of preaching, the pastor of my church invited people to spend al to receive Jesus as Savior, as we sang that hymn. However: The leader of the band at the concert suggested to sing this song in another context. He said he liked to think that, one day, when I die and go to meet God, will sing with gratitude: Just as I am, no more say than another I could not go, and you invite me to come. Blessed Christ, I come to you. Years before writing this song, Charlotte Elliott asked a pastor how he could find Jesus. He said: Just as He sees you. She did. Later: During a discouraging period of illness, he wrote this hymn on the day he came to Jesus Christ and He forgave his sins. In His Word (the Bible), God encourages us to look for: - Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon Him while He is near - Isaiah 55: 6. He adds: - To all who are thirsty, Come to the waters ... Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live (vers.1 and 3). Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we can go to Him now and be together with Him for all eternity. Just as I am, I come to you! - ... The one who is thirsty come; and ... The one who wishes take the water of life freely - Revelation 22:17. Anne Cetas.
