AS I LEAVE KAMPALA THIS MORNING Treating unemployment; lessons from infectious organisms Greetings to you all, Before delving into todays sharing, i regret the passing away of my inlaw; the eldest brother to my wife and Dr. Kajaya stephens this morning at Mulago Hospital. Sad indeed. The deadly battle btn the human family and a section of infectious pathogens has raged for a whole length of time of mans existance presumably after the fall. Man has invented numerous drug weaponry to eradicate these ruthless agents to which i sadly report that the battle has not been in manz favour. But why? The answer lies in the various ways these organisms have adopted to the harsh attempts of man; so meticulously they have done to adopt and continue to live and wipe man in thousands off the planet surface. They have changed genes, surface coatings coupled with production of deadly enzymes which disarms manz antibiotics. This is quite charming. In the recent past, the massive output of graduates from various academic institutions has soared the levels of unemployment to pathological and deadly infectious levels. This therefore requires an individual ugandan to go out of their way and do structural and attitudinal changes to cope with the biting reality of incomelessness. My proposal today is seeling alternatives in skills that generate money. If you studied social sciences for example and for the last 3 years you have no job, why not take a short course in graphic designs and be doing that in the meantime or phone repair. I have discovered that some of these skills reward much more than many swagarific trainings leading to white collar jobs but black pockets. If bacteria mutates to continue surviving why not us in our search for solutions to treat unemployment? Think about it as you enjoy your week. KS
