AS NIGERIA REMEMBERS HER FALLEN HEROES THIS DAY. Today, we pause to say thank you to men and woman who paid the supreme sacrifice for our nation to strive. They call them fallen heroes, I call them living Heroes . They are dear to our hearts, we are forever grateful for their priceless sacrifice. This day, we stand at this solemn spot as a nation to ask ourselves if truly, we are living out their dream the way they lived ours. This day, we remember how they perished, when they answered a call to preserve our land. This day, we remember how their blood wet farmlands, splashed on our waters, came down alongside with blackboxes when flying engines fall off our skies. This day, we remember how they left loved ones behind without having the opportunity to say a final goodbye. This day, we remember how their departures created vacuums in the hearts of a people who would now learn how to live without daddy and breadwinner. These men and women live in us, their dreams live in us, their love and ideals to see a safe green white banner flourishing on a fountain of honour and glory has not perished from the hearts of many. They lived for us, they stood for us, they entered the cold at nights and sun at day to uphold the virtues that bind our common dreams and aspirations. They took our bullets, crashed our crash, some of them had their throats slit in a barbaric show that defied decency and decorum...this, they went through for us. They lived for us, for them we must live. We can only live for them, when we daily work and walk to keep that promise we made to them; ... THE LABOUR OF OUR HEROES PAST SHALL NOT BE IN VAIN! Continue to rest my Living Heroes! May God bless Nigeria!
