AS TO YOUR CLAIM WHY WE, CATHOLICS, WORSHIP MARY AND THE SAINTS INSTEAD OF JESUS ALONE: Let me answer you with common sense through analogies.... True, Catholics believe in Mary as the mother of Jesus. Again, true, Catholics believe in the saints and their works are worthy of emulation because they have proved their worth to love Jesus and His true church. You think catholics worship Mary and the saints? Not true. On the other hand, it appears to be true that you misconstrue the respect we accord to Mary and the saints as worship. I pray the Rosary because through the rosary I can worship God with all the reverence I can give to Mary and the saints. I believe in Jesus as sole redeemer of my soul and I give honor to His mother and all the saints as a gesture of my gratitude for their sacrifices in promoting the church which Jesus wanted to establish. I am grateful to Mary for giving birth to our Lord Jesus and I will give my utmost respect unto her as the Mother of Jesus. I am grateful to the disciples and all the saints because they showed us countless ways to love Jesus and his church. Just as I am grateful to the mother of my wife for without her, I couldnt have found the other half of me in marriage life. If I can be grateful to my mother-in-law, how can I be ungrateful to the greatest mother of all, the mother of Jesus? Just as I am grateful to those people who have been part. instrumental and/or influential for my love ones to be worthy of such love of mine, how can I be ungrateful to all the disciples who have stood by Jesus to become what He is today; or to all the saints who have each shown in their own works the right path to emulate in worshiping and believing Jesus, the Messiah. Just as to worship is not the same as to respect, is not to recognize Mary and the saints not the same as disrespecting them. Just because we are supposed to worship Jesus alone doesnt mean we can have all the opportunity to irrevere Mary and the saints. Certainly, Jesus holds Mary and the saints very close to His heart. Do you think Jesus would appreciate that Mary and the Saints be disrespected?
