ASC SOCIAL OUTREACH MINISTRY PRESENTS ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT TRAINING Kenya after 50 years of independence has not become self reliant in food security and so every year there is always an emergency in dealing with food shortage, famine and hunger. S.O.M. in partnership with Christian Impact Mission (Bishop Masika) in Yatta has seen the transformation of that community from a culture of dependency and handouts to self sufficient and exporters of food. • The strategy is to do a special kind of farming that helps maximum of land use however small. • The farming is called ‘High Yield Value Addition Farming’ • It could help empower those with land, plots or farms and make them very profitable e.g. a ⅟4 of an acre can give from Kshs. 70 – 100,000 per month • Two acres can give more than 4 million every three months. • This is proven and is happening.
