ASER Nigeria Programme Manager About ASER ASER - The Annual Survey of Education Report is a South-South initiative across India, Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Mali, Senegal, Mexico, and now Nigeria representing citizens coming together across borders to address quality, accountability and governance in education. Pioneered in India in 2005, the ASER survey is a citizen-led household assessment of learning that now mobilises over 50,000 volunteers to administer surveys to over 1.2 billion children across 650,000 households in eight countries. About ASER Nigeria Over the coming months. we will be launching an 18 month pilot that aims to design and deliver the key processes and tools to scale up the ASER citizen-led household survey of learning across Nigerias 774 local governments. The Role The ASER Nigeria Programme Manager will report directly to the MD, and work as a key part of the core implementation team to coordinate the design and delivery of the key processes and tools for establishing the citizen led household survey of learning in Nigeria. Once established, ASER Nigeria will join the league of one of the worlds leading assessments of learning. What were looking for: passionate about education transformation in Nigeria. Vision for what a well educated population would mean for the development potential of Nigeria already working to make this happen in some way or the other would do this for free, but thats just not practical as passion wont pay the rent lives in Lagos or willing to relocate can start immediately organised and able to lead virtual teams mobile and willing to travel nationally and internationally can do, lets do, get out of my way, roll up my sleeves will do kind of person team player with strong leadership skills, well networked and able to build value adding relationships with people at all levels across the public, private and civil society sectors degree educated from a recognised university. Masters and higher degree not necessarily an advantage, but we wont hold it against you while not required, experience of working on donor / grant funded programmes an advantage willing and able to write their own job description and 18 month implementation plan Remuneration - Competitive full time (fixed term contract) rate commiserate with experience and potential.
