ASHEVILLE – Several Western North Carolina high schools were among North Carolina’s top 100 public high schools, according to a ranking from the website Niche. The rankings use statistics as well as surveys and are based on several factors including academics, health and safety, diversity and extracurricular activities. Hendersonville High ranked 35th on the list. Roberson ranked 49th and Buncombe County Early College ranked 61st. Watauga High School ranked 78th, the School of Inquiry and Life Science at Asheville ranked 81st, Henderson County Early College ranked 90th and Asheville High ranked 98th.
