ASKING FOR INFO OR HELP... sorry for the graphic photos (hoping to get better images from the vet tomorrow). This morning I received a phone call from Ormanique Bowe in tears and asking for help, a lovely lady whom together we have helped her beloved dogs get spayed/neutered through BAARK and seek vet care on occasion. Through tears she explained to me that during the night it was assumed that 2 of her 3 dogs had been attacked and cut several times with a machette. We loaded them in the car and off to Dr. Dwight Dorsett we went. By then the wounds were no longer bleeding but were in need of many stitches. It was during that process that doc with lots of experiance felt that the wounds were not caused by a cutlass but rather barbwire or something similar. I mentioned it to Ms. Bowe as we were both in fear that someone had intentionally harmed the dogs. Being the caring animal lover that she is her mission began. She searched her yard and then onto nearby areas. This evening on a walk with her third dog Ginger, she noticed her take a liking to a particular area and continued smelling it and got her moms attention. It was then that Ms. Bowe found wads of the injured dogs hair and blood on and extremely dangerous piece of barb wire, just as doc suggested. For those of you familiar with the Mackey and Shirley Street intersection, on the north west corner there is a vacant lot that is sponsored by Atlantis. As beautiful as it is, for some reason they have recently installed barb wire between the Bougainvillea trees, hidden from plain sight. We are concerned and hoping someone can lead us in the right direction as to who should be contacted about it and possibly having it replaced with something safer. Not only is it a route regularly taken by her dogs but I am sure many other dogs in the area. It needs to be taken care of before something worse happens to a person or child. If anyone knows the next step we should take in resolving the issue please message me. Thankfully her dogs are okay and will return home tomorrow after spending the night at the clinic. Please be careful if you are a person that may walk that area as it is currently very unsafe.
