Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Ecology & Biodiversity Appointment: 2 year appointment Level: Academic Level A Step 3 - 4 School/Office: Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment College/Division: Academic and Research Division The Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment is dedicated to answering crucial questions about impacts of environmental change on terrestrial ecosystems. The Institute offers comprehensive field and laboratory based facilities and is based on the Hawkesbury campus of the University of Western Sydney at the foot of Blue Mountains, a World Heritage Site consisting of numerous national parks and conservation reserves, and close to the city of Sydney. The Institute is seeking to appoint an active, dynamic individual to the position Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Ecology & Biodiversity with research expertise in plant and/or insect ecology. The candidate will conduct research on biodiversity and carbon stocks in golf course habitats across the Hawkesbury-Nepean catchment area and relate these to known drivers of variation, such as habitat type, management intensity, climate and soil type. This information will be used to identify sites that can make a valuable contribution to local biodiversity conservation, and practices that enhance above- and belowground carbon stocks within golf course sites.
