Dear all , A Sincere reminder . Read any recommendation on the Internet with an open mind but be very careful . There is so much wisdom out there for autism interventions, but also so much scam and junk that play with the emotions of the parents of special needs. B12, I tried it on my daughter as well .its a vitamin , so it will not be harmful. It may help. In my daughter , it helped very slightly . No side effects .i gave her subcutaneous so its not painfully compared to IM. And parents can give subcutaneous rather thanhaving someone come in and give injections .oral b12 will not absorb . This dr.neubfander in the link below has a practice in New Jersey , USA . He does not have any scientific evidence for b12 injections in autism . He does not have a single research publication for b12 injections .so be aware and cautious . His claims are too high . But just know that autism children as well as any other child may have other underlying problems . One of them may be b12 deficiency . It does not hurt to try .b 12 injections are very easily available in Pakistan as well and I think each injections only costs like 100 rupees and lower if u buy a whole pack. I have lived in United States for 35 years so i know that scams also happen there . Sometimes we read western names and western literature and we think its a miracle . Just know that we have to keep trying interventions for our children , some therapeutic , some medicine support to keep going and not loses hope . But just dont give In To quacks and jaddoo tona and hakeemee stuff . We dont know what is inside these hakeemee stuff . Vitamins and speech , occupational and physiotherapy , aba , etc are safe and effective . We as parents want to see immediate change . Autism is suh a challenge that there is no pill or vaccination etx no overnight treatment . So just continue therapies and continue hope as support . Thats all that works. And just to reiterate , b12 can be useful to some kids and I have given to my daughter as well . Not because of any quack ,but because its a vitamin and if doesnt help autism directly it will help a deficiency if your child has one . With you all in this challenge of autism, Sincerely , Tamseela
