The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises (CACE) CACE offers students a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Animation Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Visual Art. The College aims to prepare students to become creative leaders in the arts and related industries. Our mission is to provide student artists and designers with an opportunity to explore and develop their own creative ideas while contributing to national initiatives in the culture of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The department works closely with faculty in other university disciplines such as the majors in Emirati Studies and Multi-Media Design, and the MA in Museum Studies. Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and initiatives of the college that will advocate innovative practices and research. The Opportunity CACE seeks a qualified candidate to fill a full-time, multi-year, faculty position in the area of Foundation/New Media on the Dubai campus starting August 2015. Candidates with an interdisciplinary practice/approach are particularly encouraged to apply. The Requirements Applicants must have earned a Master of Fine Arts degree (or equivalent terminal degree) in an Art or Design discipline. The successful applicant will be expected to have professional experience in the field, must offer quality teaching, and will be expected to contribute to the development of the program and the college. An understanding of mobile and new technologies, digital publishing, programming, or 3D printing/modeling is an asset. Proficiency in the use of technology is essential. Candidates must understand and support the integrated nature of the curriculum and must be able to contribute to art and design excellence, both academic and professional, within the college. Applicants should also be willing to collaborate with other colleges within the University and demonstrate a commitment to education and to scholarly and professional work. Our particular aim with this new appointment is to strengthen the delivery of art and design foundations across the four majors. The successful applicant should be a multi-disciplinary, conceptual thinker who understands the importance of art and design foundations and the use of technology across all areas of art and design, and is passionate about communicating this to students. We seek candidates who have a broad vision of the future of art and design and the ability to articulate that vision, and who have thorough knowledge of both art and design theory and practice, as well as the ability to integrate the necessary tools in teaching within this area. Candidates will also contribute to developing a strong culture of art and design research in the college.
