ASSISTANT INSPECTOR: AIRWORTHINESS Category : Flight Safety - Airworthiness Division Apply Now Date of Posting : 30-07-2014Last Date to Apply : 08-08-2014 Job Description : (1 position at Head Office) Vacancy No. 3 of 2014 PURPOSE OF THE JOB To assist in performing functions related to the continued airworthiness of civil aircraft and to enforce the Civil Aviation Regulations and all other airworthiness policies with the aim to fulfill the CAAB vision and mission. POSITION REQUIREMENTS A minimum of Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering from a recognized university or a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering; or a basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License in either Airframe and Power-Plant or Avionics. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: • Certification of aircraft and verification of conformity to type certification and data sheet. • Continued monitoring of airworthiness of all registered aircraft and compliance with standards and recommended practices. • Licensing of aircraft maintenance engineers and carrying out enforcement and monitoring of their adherence to safety regulations and requirements. • Liaise with OPS and PEL in approval/renewal of Aircraft of Air Operator Certificates (AOCs), Approved Maintenance Organisations (AMOs) and Approved Training Organisations (ATOs). • Development, evaluation and/or approval of operator technical manuals • Corrective action plans following state audit • Maintenance of Civil Aircraft Register and schedule of AMO inspections. • Investigation of accidents and incidents • Identification and resolution of safety concerns.
