ASSOCIATE WITH PEOPLE OF ALL FAITHS IN A SPIRIT OF AMITY AND CONCORD. AbduBaha I admit. I am a late bloomer. I started on this path some thirty years ago - more seriously in the past three years. It is my goal to visit at least two churches a month (24 churches, synagogues, mosques, and other places of worship for the year). I visited St. James Episcopal church of Marietta last Sunday and visited with their pastors and some of their leadership and learned more about their history, their commitment to civil rights and attempt to correct the acts of the parent church during the period of slavery in England, trying to promote womens rights and more leadership roles for women in their church, encouraging more independence and inquiry as opposed to the Catholic church from which they split, etc. I oriented them to the Bahai ideals and mentioned that I am ready to delve deeper into these themes and more from the Bahai perspective and just received the first invitation for the year to speak at St. Catherines Episcopal church in March. ... and yes, I am invited to a mosque for lunch this Thursday.
