ASSUMPTIONS AND HEARSAY. Many times young people fail to act right and go ahead to do wrong, because of assumptions based on one sided stories without checking up from the other end. People complain, murmur and carry stories that may purely be based on their seeing things from a wrong side of view. Not long ago, someone I did not know, got my number from someone that believed I have a good influence on a brother he had issues with. When he spoke to me it was like case closed, the other person is condemned and is completely out of the way, but the case was not exactly so, when I heard the other side of the story. It is always good to check up issues from the right people before acting on hearsay and doing things that reflect unbelief and impatience that may attract condemnation. I have known cases of great men on the pulpit being found in faults and instead of acknowledging and seeking prayer support for restoration, since we know that he that thinketh he standeth should take heed lest he falls. Rather, they twisted the stories to sway many, while whipping up sentiments. I heard things that made me marvel about depraved human nature, in the cause of taking bold steps to find out the real matters from the right sources. We must be swift to hear, slow to speak, act with caution and verify things properly before we act. Hearsay and assumptions may be too costly and we must therefore WATCH.
