ASTOUNDING!!! This video clip was taken from former ASBVME member/President/Vice President/investigator/assistant to radio entertainer Mark Montiel, Dr. William Ronald Welchs sworn testimony during the ASBVMEs administrative hearing into the boards charges against veterinarian Dr. Margaret Ferrell on October 7, 2014. In this clip, Dr. Welch is questioned by Dr. Ferrells legal counsel regarding the mortality rate (numbers of animals that died from surgical complications) for surgeries performed by Dr. Welch during his career. Welch states that, during his veterinary career (41+ years), he has had a mortality rate of .0000001%. Doing the math, to achieve that rate, for each animal that died from surgical complications, Dr. Welch would have had to perform TEN MILLION surgeries over the course of his career where the animal did not die from surgical complications. If 3 animals died related to surgical complications during Dr. Welchs 41+ year career, Dr. Welch would have had to perform THIRTY MILLION surgeries. CONGRATULATIONS, DR. WELCH! THATS JUST UNBELIEVABLE!!
