ASTROLOGY, FREE WILL AND COSMIC INTELLIGENCE Someone (politely) asked me today whether it was so easy to know a person just from their time and date of birth, and if so - whether that negated the idea of Free Will. A friend of his had a reading with me and he was pretty surprised at the depth that my reading went into, prompting the question! A good astrological reading is one that gives you a sense of someone without ever having met them. In fact, you dont actually need to see the person face to face, or interact with them to understand their chart. There is an undeniable accuracy to astrology, so I find. There are mathematical principles that go into depth and connect planets, hypothetical points with such precision that - quite literally - looking at a chart, you see a Life instead. But does that mean that all is scripted out for you? And you have no will, no control, no meaning to any sense of personal agency? Not in the Slightest. As far as I am concerned, we Choose our Parents, our Time and Exact Moment of Birth. It is not by chance that a person, for instance, who has a generational - perhaps even karmic issue (across lifetimes) chooses parents who can help them through the same issue till it is resolved (sometimes by triggering it first). If we understand the Birth Chart as the Blueprint of our Incarnation and our Agency in choosing to manifest that Blueprint as such, the question of whether your Free Will is eroded ... it itself laid to rest. The problem arises when we assume that the level of Consciousness we inhabit in this lifetime is somehow a Subject, or even Victim of the the Planets - and that is not the case. One might ask - why then do we inflict upon ourselves such painful circumstances for learning and growth? (for those who have the idea of Victim-hood) I suspect that is a question you need to be asking your Soul :D From what I have seen, we choose the type of life through which we complete a particular chapter in our Souls Evolution. And we choose what we can handle. There is a Greater Cosmic Intelligence working through the Background the entire time ... but its really you who controls how you choose to engage with that Intelligence, or not. I see proof of this working through the modality of astrology when I notice that clients are naturally drawn to get readings with or interact with me - just as major transits are happening in their charts. Its a very mathematically precise thing in terms of timings and positions, and not something you can make up. I also notice that the kind of interpretations and areas of growth I am drawn to spend more time on are areas that are lit up by some kind of connection between my chart and the chart of the person Im reading for. I never look at these before a reading is done, and when its done, it underlines what Id already said earlier - the astrological connections and energetic linkages are there, working between both parties, even without any conscious knowledge of it at the time. How cool is that? (Typically I appear as Saturn, Black Moon Lilith or Vesta by way of synastry or transits in a persons chart -- that does say something :P ) So why bother getting an astrology reading if it all happens anyway? There are different levels of engagement you can make with a given body/point in your chart. If youre not aware of it, you might be prone to use that energy in a way that is aligned with your subconscious programming learnt in early childhood (sometimes also an imprint from a past lifetime). This is great and well and fine if your conditioning is one that does not limit you or put you in a loop of self-defeating attitudes and behaviors. But who of us can say that they are free of any of that? What I do is to make you aware of the linkages of energy and how you can become more aware of them. And as you do, you find more pathways to make the most of the opportunities you do have and the challenges you have chosen to manifest - and ultimately (ideally) transcend.
