ASUU: Who is deceiving Who? It is important to contribute in my own little way to educational sector of my dear country because education is the bedrock of development of any nation. While it is important for the Universities Lecturers to fight for their right, I think it is also important to let them know that "winners can not take all" at a go. ASUU should not allow the government to demolish the future of our dear nation, if trully that the overwhelming members and supporters of ASUU are fighting for the development of our educational sector. They must be aware that millions of brains are wasting away at home and the future of this country is at stake, then the struggle have to change pattern form a kind of total war to struggle for emancipation of the students, teachers and other stakeholders and not a satanic war for selfish gain as alleged by FG. Meanwhile, it is important to sensitize the members of ASUU from State Government owned Universities to be more cautious of what I will refer to as "use and dump". Perhaps they dont know that they are going to be at the losing end of the whole struggle. They dont have anything to gain from that 2009 FG/ASUU agreement. How many times has our state governments complied on FG/workers agreement over salary scale, welfare, remuneration or emolment of the labour? No! They should stop deceiving themselves. It is therefore important for them to deal with visitors of the state owned schools who are apparently the governors of their various states. If they belief Mr President is the visitor to all Federal Universities, Governors to state owned Universties the proprietors are the owners of their private ENTERPRISES (Universities), then they have to be smart and return to their state governors for better welfare package. The clue here is that State Governors are also fighting undergroundly for decentralisation of minimum wage, that means the governors are not concern about ASUU agreement with Federal Government. Teachers Salary Scale (TSS) approved by FG for Primary and Secondary Teachers is a pointer to this position. Hope they are also aware that state schools may not benefit from any approved intervention fund? A word is enough for the wise. Lekan Rahmon Oyeyemi
