ATHENA Grand Rapids salutes another woman leader and entrepreneur in our community!! Congratulations to Proos Manufacturing CEO Amy Proos who was recently named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2013 Winner in Michigan & Northwest Ohio! Amy Proos is the third generation, and first woman, CEO and owner of her family’s 94-year old manufacturing company. Amy began her career at Proos as a college student in 1987, and worked in several departments of the company before completing its purchase in 2010 and becoming CEO. The award recognizes outstanding high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. The finalists and winners were selected by an independent panel of judges and honored at a black-tie gala on June 20, 2013 at the MGM Grand, Detroit.
