ATINEN CLAN-ITS EXISTENCE Everybody takes pride in his roots. To be curious in ones beginning gives you an idea of who you are, what kind of ancestral lineage you have. This would somehow give you a picture of your being and what would become of that being. During fiestas and other gatherings, relatives from neighboring barangays, municipalities and provinces meet, renewing ties, recounting the years past even to the point of tracing roots. They proded me to organize the clan and they would be supportive of whatever plans may materialize. They expressed on the advantages of meeting long forgotten members of the clan which would be made possible through a reunion. I mused over this idea and broached this idea to Nang Dading Barrun when I was in Cagayan de oro City, to Nang Olive Winstanley and Nang Modesta Pabellan both of Talisayan, to Nang Josephine Nieva in Balingoan and to Nang Soling Cubos in Portulin. After several free-whelling discussions, we finally came up with inputs to our plans. Nang Dading, Nang Olive, Nang Moding, Nang Bina and Nang Soling introduces to me some names whom we know belong to the clan that adds to my longtime record of relatives. However, this was not enough to fall back on, so, I went to some other places in Misamis Oriental and agusan and sending text messages to the defferent places in the Philippines and do on line in the facebook to gather more names. It was June 8, 2008 that I send out letters and requested them to attend the first organizational meeting held at Mariners Eatery, Santos bldg, near the Balingoan pier. There was favorable responce thus encouraging us to carry on inspite of the insufficient logistics for the fruition of the plan. Nang Dading, Nang Olive, Nang Moding, Nang Bina, Nang Soling and I took turns in selling the idea of organizing the ATINEN CLAN. We laid out the plan before the group for their comments and suggestions, which would contribute to the perf ection of the plan. Several suggestions and ideas cropped up which we inputted to our plan. Everybody was enthusiastic that we didnt give any room for failure thus, on that very day, we agreed to hold the first reunion of the ATINEN CLAN. We realized our plan. We elected complete set of officers with advisers and appointed coordinators. Everybody that participated the meeting came up in finalizing the plans, thus, giving birth to the ATINEN CLAN. All the efforts of the organizer with the support of the five advisers and those who contributed to the perfection of the plan was realized to the first 1st ATINEN CLAN Grand Reunion. The 1st ATINEN CLAN grand reunion was held on Jul 6, 2008, in Talisayan Gym, Talisayan, misamis, Oriental, 2nd Grand Reunion was in Gingoog City and the 3rd Grand Reunion was in Star M Beach, Talisayan, Mis. or.
