The NRC has been under pressure from foreign nuclear power giants such as Toshiba, Areva and others to allow foreign ownership of nuclear reactors in the U.S. By granting a license to operate a nuclear plant to a company that is foreign owned or controlled, it is possible that key information about how to build or exploit nuclear reactors could fall into the hands of a hostile or an unfriendly [foreign] power... Who or what is heavily lobbying the NRC - France and Japan, Areva is 90% owned by the French government. Areva owns the B&W designed nuclear reactors in the U.S., which includes the Bellefonte cannibalized, zombie reactor.
